If facing the paper, your thought is 'I am an artist', you have no clue what to do. If the concepts of your function are, 'I am a shape maker, an entertainer, an expressive symbol collector'...then you have an explicit road map. Edgar Whitney

love letter #1
I felt the lack of simple things today, of animating when I tell them aloud to you.
It was a breezy sunny spring afternoon and the poets told this day like an abacus bead,
I buried my face in sun-clean towels the day captured in the cotton.
I made the drawing at the head of my poetry page whilst on holiday in the very beautiful Okains Bay, located on the Banks Peninsula, south island, New Zealand. I love to draw subjects that have rhythm and movement. This drawing is now in the United Kingdom, a gift to an artist friend. A poem celebrating this drawing can be found on The Semaphore Anthology
